Cobrey Farms produces a wide variety of crops, and is home to Wye Valley Produce, growing British asparagus, green beans, blueberries and rhubarb for sale across the UK.

Asparagus

We have been harvesting asparagus since 2005 and are proud to be one of the UK’s largest and most innovative asparagus growers. With our advanced technology and enterprising packing techniques, we are able to lock in the freshness immediately after harvesting, and offer beautifully presented and consistent end products. Leading the market in supplying asparagus from February until November, our autumn asparagus has been very well received by chefs, food writers and the public alike. We also grow asparagus in Norfolk and Suffolk and supply locally, to national supermarkets, and to the wholesale markets.

Blueberries

We have been harvesting our blueberries since 2009. Our high quality technology and packing techniques ensure that we can keep our blueberries cool and fresh to guarantee the best taste and texture. We plant and carefully manage a range of the varieties over targeted locations, which yields blueberries from June to October. As with our asparagus, we supply locally, to national supermarkets, and to the wholesale market.

Beans

We have been growing beans since 2015 and through intelligent management of varieties and field sites we focus on delivering consistently high quality retail and wholesale packs of fine and green dwarf beans from June through to October. Utilising the same industry leading cooling and packing facility as our asparagus we deliver the freshest and best tasting beans available, from field to fork in as little as 24hours. We supply locally, to national supermarkets, and to the wholesale market.

Rhubarb

We have been harvesting rhubarb since 2010 and supply the forced, fast growing crop that is favoured by our customers. The tender pink shoots we produce can be found in local restaurants and pubs, and in selected wholesale markets.

Produce Potatoes

Potatoes

The Chinn family has been growing potatoes in and around the Wye Valley for four generations. With 8,500 tonnes of cold storage on site, we grow crisping potatoes and Maris Peer salad potatoes for supply throughout the year.

Combinable Crops

Combinable crops, including wheat, barley and oil seed rape, are grown in rotation around the asparagus, blueberries, and potatoes. All crops are produced to standards exceeding our Assured Combinable Crops Scheme requirements, whilst aiming for minimum production costs in order to compete in this global market. We have 2,500 tonnes of grain storage.

Castle Brook Vineyard

Castle Brook vineyard is nestled on the south-facing slopes of the ancient River Wye, which are ideally suited to producing the finest grapes. All our wines are made under a PDO scheme reserved for the English quality sparkling wines, made using traditional Champagne varieties and methods.

Our Castle Brook Classic Cuvée (named Chinn-Chinn!) has a deliciously delicate, crisp palate, with a hint of lemon blossom. Brioche and toasty yeast notes add complexity to the finish. It has a pale lemon colour, green apple odours, and is rich and textured in the mouth.

You can buy our trophy-winning wine from the farm, online from our website, or enquire for information on stockists.
