Cobrey Farms

Wye Valley

Home Up

The UK’s premium asparagus brand is grown by the Chinn Family in the beautiful Wye Valley.

The light sandy soil in our sheltered valley is perfect for asparagus production with the south facing slopes producing very early asparagus from late March and the north facing slopes continuing harvest through into July. The early spring sunshine is captured by the microclimate in this old meander valley of the river Wye to produce the sweetest asparagus. A 5.00am start every morning ensures that the hand-harvested asparagus retains all of its freshness and flavour.

The Chinn Family started farming at Cobrey Farms in 1926 and four generations later it is now Henry Chinn who leads the team. We are constantly looking for different varieties and growing systems to develop new flavours and eating experiences. Over the last few years we have extended the season for green asparagus, introduced purple asparagus, and this year watch out for our new launch of white asparagus.
