The early spring sunshine is captured by the sandy south facing slopes in our old
meander valley of the river Wye. This microclimate helps to produce the earliest
and sweetest asparagus in the UK.
Chinn family asparagus is hand-harvested first thing every morning and within the
hour it is hydro-cooled down to 2 degrees centigrade to retain all of its freshness
and flavour. Our efficient grading and packing system sets to work immediately on
the days harvest and we aim to have the asparagus in the truck on the way to market
by the end of the day. It is this attention to real freshness and quality that makes
Wye Valley asparagus standout from the rest.
