Packhouse
Cobrey Packhouse was built in 2005 and updated regularly since to become one of the largest asparagus grading and packing facilities in the UK. The highest standards are recognised by our A grade accreditation by the BRC (British Retail Consortium), M&S Field to Fork, and the Soil Association Organic Standard. The packhouse contains the following key systems: Intake controls including weighing, traceability and quality control Product wash and hydro-cooler High tech asparagus graders using the latest optical recognition technology to give our customers superb size and quality segregation to meet any required specification A flexible system for full quality control whilst weighing, packing and labelling a range of packaging types. Other facilities of interestPotato
grading lines capable of cleaning up the crop and split sizing 500 tonnes of
potatoes every day. We
have 8,500 tonnes of cold storage, primarily for potato storage but also
essential during the asparagus season to guarantee maximum product freshness and
shelf life, without the need for post harvest chemicals. Wine from the Chinn
Valley vineyard is also stored here under climate-controlled conditions
mimicking the finest wine cellars. Grain
storage for 2,500 tonnes A
water treatment plant processes all the wastewater from the site, producing good
