After six years of trials work in 2011 we took are first commercial harvest of Autumn Asparagus. Asparagus is a perennial root system and will send up shoots (spears) at any time, which if left, grow into a fern and send energy to the roots. Whilst traditionally these spears are harvested in the spring we have challenged this by taking the harvest, post fern growth, from September to November.
Autumn asparagus has received huge support from M&S, chefs, food writers, and the asparagus eating public. Please find attached links on this page.
